Here is a great video for how to prep and chalk line a dirt infield

Note, it is a good idea if there are significant pot holes in the batters box or by the pitching rubber, to use a bucket of water to fill the hole with the water at least half way, and then fill the hole with clay if the clay is already dry. This allows the clay in the hole to form a better bond. It only takes about 15 mins for the clay to become solid to play on.

A regulation batters box is 3 feet x 7 feet.

6 inches from home plate

From the back corners plate-  4 feet forward and 3 feet back.

 

A regulation pitchers circle is

8 feet radius from the middle of the rubber.
