2024 Spring Select Tryouts

This is an OPTIONAL program run by Fullerton Hills called the Select Program.  The regular Spring 2024 Recreations season is SEPARATE from Select.    

The FHS Select program is an advanced, companion softball program, separate from the Recreation seasons. Anyone interested in Select must try out, and not all who tryout will make a Select team. Spring Select teams only meet one day per week, usually Sundays.  The Spring Select season runs from January 14 - March 31, 2024.   

 

Tryouts for the 2024 Spring Select program for players in the 8u, 10u, 12u, and 14u divisions are at the following days, times and locations.  

 

14u Division: Sunday, Jan. 14, 8:30am, Lions Field 1 *(Pitchers & Catchers 8am to be evaluated)   

12u Division: Sunday, Jan. 14, 11am, Lions Field 1 *(Pitchers & Catchers 10:30 am to be evaluated)  

10u Division: Sunday, Jan. 14, 8:30am, Lions Field 2 *(Pitchers & Catchers 8am to be evaluated)   

8u Division:   Sunday, Jan. 14, 11am, Lions Field 2 *(Pitchers & Catchers 10:30 am to be evaluated)  

 

Please be sure to note the DAY, TIME and FIELD LOCATION for your players Select tryout! Please be sure to show up earlier than assigned tryout time to leave time to sign in with coaches! (20 min)

Each division will have someone at their field that will check in the players. Players should bring their softball equipment with them, including a glove, bat, batting helmet and (optional) fielding mask. Catchers should bring their own gear.  Please dress in softball attire and bring water.

 8U Gold Select: Jeannine Campbell

8U Silver Select: Michael Bennett

10U Gold Select: Shane Aguilar

10U Silver Select: Mike Warner

12U Gold Select: Travis Gambino

12U Silver Select: Robert Duncan

14U Gold Select: Bobby Naranjo

 

FHS will consider forming more than 1 select team per division. If there is agreement among the select manager, Player Agent and Director of select to do so.

 

Players that are chosen for a Select team will be notified by their Select manager. The rosters will also be posted on our website.  

 

Select Tryout Info:

-  Date, time and location varying by division (see above) 

-  Tryout will last approximately 90 minutes (plan accordingly)  

 

Cost: If selected for a team, select program registration is $75 per player ($40 for Players who played Fall 2024 Select - jersey will not change). The registration cost covers jersey and socks, field use, lighting fees and field supplies. All other additional costs such as tournament fees, umpire fees and any travel costs are the responsibility of the individual teams.

 

Season Length: Spring Select runs from January 14 - March 31, 2024.  

 

Eligibility: Players MUST be registered for, and fully participate in the Spring 2024 FHS Recreation season. Players that make a Select team will only be eligible for 2024 all-stars at their Spring 2024 Select team age level.  

 

If your player is interested in trying out, please fill out RSVP form as it must be sent in before tryout date January 13, 2024.

Our year Calendar

Recreational Spring Season - January through May (player evaluations)

All Stars - May through early June (5 weekends guaranteed). Please note that All Stars could go into July and or August if a teams qualifies for State and or Nationals.

Recreational Fall Ball - Mid August through early November (no player evaluations)

Select - Mid August through March 31 (tryouts)
